Here’s the deal – the Kraków Hackerspace doesn’t have the capacity to mass-produce sanitary visors, but only mass production makes sense to us in the current situation.

We’ve pulled all the strings we can and have already started production of sanitary masks made from PET plastic, in partnership with local printing companies.

We used the Foundation’s financial reserves to buy the first 300 kilograms of pre-cut sheets of plastic. Then we used an industrial die-cutting machine to start making the first few visors.

The design we are using was made by the Warsaw Hackerspace Association, made available to us under a CC-BY-NC 4.0 license (non-commercial use only), and our product is provided free of charge to those in need of it.

The funding we need is to pay for the following:

• materials and further production costs – the biggest cost here is buying the raw materials and preparing them for production,
• covering the costs of production for the first batch of 3,000 sanitary visors – we work pro bono, but we want to help our subcontractors stay afloat while they work for us,
• growing our own prototyping and production capabilities.
